Well they found the kids body in a swamp on the lawarence road. I knew he was dead the moment news broke that he was missing a week ago. From the rumors i've been hearing around town and the news it's pretty clear the poor kid was murdered, beaten by 4 other teens and died as a result of it. sad turn of events. i'm reminded of the offspring song come out and play.
well in less depressing news i'm heading into the city on friday, mostly to do some christmas shopping. I'll still have time to visit anyone who wants to get together, so if anyone in the city want to go to lunch or something drop me a line.
more Euro trip - First Full Day in Berlin part 1
The hostel was a really nice place, brand new. the beds were comfy and they had these huge body pillows that you could just sink right into.

We hit berlin early in the morning. The plan was to rent bikes, see the berlin wall, then go on the free walking tour of the city. In the process i fell off my bike (right over the handle bars) after a car pulled in fromt of me and it started to rain, which soaked us all. Still it was awesome
just down the street from the hostel was a bike rental place
on the way to the berlin wall
i was surprised by the ammount of graffti in Berlin
our first stop the Berlin wall
andrew, unimpressed at the berlin wall

there was a gift shop further down the wall, about a mile. there we bought some junk. i got a fake commie hat and a communist medal for good work (seriously)
andrew sporting my very cool hat

it wasn't long after this when it started to rain. it was just a drizzle at first but soon turned into a pouring mess. i was miserable, but i'll go into more detail of Berlin day one in a later post.

Ah two days off sure feels nice, though sadly i must head back to work in the morning. Slept in until noon both days i had off which was very refreshing and didn't do anything of any importance. Did manage to jog and play hockey both days though which i am rather pleased about.
In sad news my older cat Hobbes died yesterday. He was really fadding over the previous week so yesterday my parents had him put down. Sad, but it was for the best. He wasn't able to walk and hadn't been eating over the last few day. the vet says he probably had cancer. I'll always have the memories though, 15 years of good memories.
Been playing Splinter Cell a fair ammount over the last few days and it's a pretty sweet game. there's nothing more satisfying then sneaking up on an unsuspecting enemy and giving them a spinal adjustment. It's a sweet sweet game.
Euro Trip part 3
We arrived in berlin around 9pm. by that time i had been up for over 24 hours and was exausted. I couldn't wait to get to our hostel and crash. sadly that had to wait because Andrew's directions were incomplete and we spent 3 hours wandering around looking for our hostel. We even tried calling Josh, Andrew's friend who we were meeting up with, but his phone didn't have any credit. Eventually we stumbled onto the Hostel, but not before i had become cranky and began to snap at andrew.

a train in Berlin which was a funny old communist era train

Andrew calling Josh (only after i demanded it and started to lose my temper though)

Finally at the hostel with josh and more importantly BEER! (the sad thing is the hostel was actually very close to where we got off from the train, we walked around it in circles for hours!!!!)
Nuff Said

This is Josh, cool guy. he graduated with andrew from Stfx

This is the owner of the hostel (the guy to the left) and an american guy that was called Kamakazi Jonney. He was an ass, especially when he was drunk. He was the kind of guy who gives americans a bad name accross the world. Now we met and hung aut with many americans and they were all really cool people. Jonney was an ass. There was a huge incident with him but i'll go over that later. The owner of the hostel was really cool but most of the time when i saw him he was drunk.

we went out for food after drinking, met some cool Germans. This is andrew eating his kabob
That was my first day in Europe, next time my first full day in Berlin

saw an interesting program on french cbc the yesterday afternoon, Captain Harlock, the original anime. i always enjoyed that series and the original manga. i only wish it was on the regular cbc and in english. though i remember it from when i was a kid, i have no clue what their saying now. oh well, it was nice to see it again after so long
A long day has come and nearly passed so it's time for my second post. Work was very annoying today, very loud and very shitty. Shitty in the literal sense. I'm just glad i have tomorrow off so i can rest. Now for some more important past events...
3- I've been exercising since my return from Europe. For a long time i was lazy and ate way too much junk. I would go for days just eating pizza from the sub and drinking bottle after bottle of Dr. Pepper. Needles to say i gained a lot of weight and was nearly 200 pounds. after my trip i decided to lose weight. Since then i've given up junk food, namely chips, pop and fast food; and i exercise daily. I jog 4 miles and a bit daily, eat right and do sit ups and use weights. I've lost around 40 pounds and feel great. I don't even miss the junk food, though I still have the occasional Scot Skins, beer and pastry treat. The only down side is that most of my cloths don't fit any more. My old jeans now fall off when i put them on. I've had to slowly start buying a whole new wardrobe. Oh well i feel great and haven't been this thin since high school.
4- trip # 2 - as i mentioned yesterday i was already planning a second trip. Well i have the tickets in my hand. I'm heading to asia, namely Manila for 21 days in january. It's going to be sweet. I can't wait to see all the historical sites, namely corridor where the americans had their last stand against the japanese in 1942. I also want to see the memorial for the victims of the manila massacre, when the Japanese killed tens of thousands of civilians in Manila. It's going to be sweet.
Europe trip kicked ass as i mentioned, here are some more pics from the trip...

during my brief time in london i didn't get to see many sights, but i did get to see buckingham palace, no Queen though

a childs gambling machine at an arcade. i guess these things are everywhere. we didn't win anything but it was a fun way to kill time while waiting in the airport terminal.

here's andrew and i in Berlin. the flight there was rather quick and only cost 30 pounds each. pretty cheap actually. we flew on Ryan air, a really cheap discount airline. I'll go into the details of my berlin adventures in my next post.
Well i promised an mystery album and i shall deliver, though i'm going to be a lazy bastard and use the last unsolved one from my old blog..
# 1 - This album was released in 1972.
# 2 - This Album is considered a part of the Holy Trinity of Hard Rock, which includes Led Zeppelin Four and Black Sabbath's Paranoid.
# 3 - This is a song quote from the album:
"We had a lot of luck on Venus
We always had a ball on Mars"
now for the trivia question and quote...
In Empire Strikes Back what were the odds of surviving an astroid field?
Name this character, movie and actor: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

It's been a long time since I posted anything on the internet in blog form, too long really. Much has happened and much has changed, way to much to say really. I guess I'll briefly go over the most important events in this first post.
1 - I graduated... finally. It only took me 5 long years. I enjoyed school for the most part, but it just dragged on and on in the end and I started to feel burnt out. I'm glad to be done, but I have no clue what I want to do now. Oh well, I'm taking a year off and I'll figure things out.
2 - Euro trip = awesome. Yes i went to Europe for 21 days earlier this year and it was amazing. I recomend it to everyone. The sights, the history, the beer, all amazing. I have caught the travel bug now and am already planning my next trip. The world is an amazing place and i want to see as much of it as i can before i die.
Here are a few pics from England, i was only there for 10 hours. Andrew greeted me at the airport and after hanging around London for a few hours we were off to Berlin.

This is me in Victoria Station in London, England, the start of my trip - my best friend Andrew is taking the picture

This is Andrew

At an English Pub - cheap (for england) but good beer and food
I'll upload more pictures from Europe in future posts. I have to have some reason to keep up the posting.
In other news I'm working on a novel based after John's unfinished works. It's slow going but i have been making progress. It's amazing looking at his notes and half finished chapters. He created quite a universe. I only hope i can do his work justice.
X-box 360 - yes i have one, and yes i love it. It's an amazing system and the games are great. To many good ones have been released lately and i can't afford to buy them all. Gears of War is on the top of my to buy list right now, but I still have to finish Splinter Cell first, which is a sweet game. As soon as i figure out how i'll post my gamer tag to the blog.
Starting tomorrow i'll post a mystery album and a random trivia question/quote to be guessed. I miss finding albums to stump people and prizes to hand out. It was a fun thing for me to do on my old blog.
Well it's getting late and i have to work at 7am, so i'm off to bed.
